Day 1 : (Leh)
Arrive In Leh Ladakh
Arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, either by flight or road from Manali or Srinagar.
Rest and acclimatize to the high altitude (Leh is at approximately 3,500 meters above sea level), drink plenty of water, and avoid strenuous activities.
Take a leisurely stroll around the local market in Leh, exploring handicrafts, Tibetan artifacts, and trying out local cuisine.
Visit Leh Palace, a former royal palace overlooking the town, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Day 2 : (Leh)
Monestry Circuit
After breakfast, embark on a monastery circuit tour. Ladakh is renowned for its beautiful monasteries, each offering a unique insight into Buddhist culture and architecture.
Start with Thiksey Monastery, one of the largest and most iconic monasteries in Ladakh, known for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.
Visit Shey Palace and Monastery, once the summer capital of Ladakh's royalty, known for its giant golden Buddha statue.
Explore Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, famous for its annual Hemis Festival celebrating the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava.
Return to Leh in the evening and spend some more time exploring the local eateries and markets.
Day 3 : (Leh)
Nubra Valley Excursion
Depart early for a day trip to Nubra Valley, one of Ladakh's most enchanting destinations. The journey takes you over the world's highest motorable pass, Khardung La (subject to weather and road conditions).
En route, enjoy breathtaking views of the rugged Himalayan landscape.
Visit Diskit Monastery, perched on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the valley and the famous Maitreya Buddha statue.
Experience a unique camel safari on the double-humped Bactrian camels in the sand dunes of Hunder.
Optionally, visit the picturesque village of Turtuk, located close to the Pakistan border, to experience the Balti culture and hospitality.
Return to Leh by evening and relax.
Day 4 : (Leh)
Pangong Lake Excursion
Another early start for a day trip to Pangong Lake, one of the most iconic and breathtaking lakes in Ladakh, famous for its ever-changing shades of blue.
Enjoy the scenic drive through picturesque villages and barren landscapes.
Spend the day at Pangong Lake, marveling at its pristine beauty, taking photographs, and perhaps even enjoying a picnic lunch by the lakeshore.
If time permits, you can also explore nearby attractions like the village of Spangmik.
Return to Leh in the evening and relax.
Day 5 : (Leh)
Departure
Depending on your departure schedule, you can either spend the morning relaxing in Leh or indulge in any last-minute souvenir shopping.
